Hi guys, I'm hoping to track down Carol Doggett. We were at Corner Hall Primary together (1960-1971), then went our separate ways until realised The Albion pub in Durrants Hill was a passable watering hole en route to Stripes Disco in Marlowes (changed its name to Scamps for some reason). Carol worked at John Dickos for a while - and then we lost touch. I am ex-Lawn Lane and Carol lived with her Mum and Dad and little sister Janet at 17 Deaconsfield Road. Those were the days!

Have just seen the Hemel Hempstead web site and would like to know news of school friends from Apsley Grammar during the years 1955 to 1964. Still hear from Angela Jones (that was) every Christmas and now in touch with Jane Brown but otherwise have lost touch with Judith Holliman and various others - if there have been reunions in the last few years would like to know the news. Now a Grandmother of nearly five. Lived in Spain for seven years but now down in sunny Dorset. Look forward to hearing from anyone who remembers me.

Ray Penny here. I used to live in White Hart Drive, Adeyfield, from when it was new and up until the mid 70's. I went to Broadfield School, then Corner Hall Boys up until 1967, any school buddies want to get in touch? how about a reunion? Mark Reynolds, Peaky Gallagher, Don Sturgess, Roy Oliver, where are you? I was originally a drummer in 'The Zeniths' circa 1963/4 we played the youth club rota, plus a few gigs at the Pav and the Culpin Room. Became a DJ and formed 'The Hole in the Wall Disco' (it's still going with Crazy Gaz Miller. Well done Gary) I used to hang around The Spotted Bull in Apsley, The Harry by the Market place, The Queens Head, Lawn Lane, Stripes which became Scamps which became The Living Room. I've ended up in Gloucestershire and very happy (done the other countries bit) Hemel ain't a bad place although I prefer to visit now rather than live there. If you want to get in contact please do, I'd love to reminisce. Someone wrote on here recently what was the record store on the market place? well it was Hearsay records, 'cause I used to buy a load of records there and I still have some of them.

My Grandmother, Alice Priest (father Henry Priest and Sarah Gurney) was born in 1899. In 1906 her mother died and she and her brother, Harold Gurney (stepson) were put into foster homes. The Waifs and Strays Society would have been involved and I understand the local reverend of the Church of England would have made the application. I am keen to find the Reverend or Church which would have been involved at the time in the hope that I can find some record. Sarah Priest (nee Gurney) died at her home in 117 Marlowes Road so I guess it would have been the Church of England near where she lived. I would like to know what the Church is and the address of either the church or the vicarage.

This is Trevor Norris. I was born on Seaton Road in 1949 and then moved to Beechfield Rd in 52. I attended South Hill School and then Corner Hall Secondary Mod until 64 when I walked out after getting caned for defacing a history book (I thought it was pretty creative). In 72, I atteneded St Albans Art School for one year after which time I moved on to the Central School of Art and Design in London. A place at the University of California, Santa Barbara persuaded me to move to California in 77 where I still live. I would be pleased to have contact with anyone who remembers me from any of those times. I still have a good memory so if anyone wants personal insight and info from those times I am very willing to share. For all of those people compiling memories of the PAVILION I would add CREAM on their first tour, probably 68 (there were 20 of us in the audience at most) and later, Roy Wood's WIZZARD, and, Captain Beefheart was booked but pulled out at the last minute. There are many more but my memory cells, you know !

Hi i lived in HH from being 1 year old till I was 16 i went to BOURNE VALLEY in 1980 but this closed down after my first year there. Does anyone know if anything was built there as I then went away to school and have never been back to that part of Hemel to see. I must say that I did like Hemel and there are some lovely places and some great pubs or there was then. I am now 39 and haven't had a good look at hemel, only pop in once a year to see family as I am now a long way away. There was a beefeater pub at the end of the high street that I worked in has anything been built there? Does the fair still come to Hemel, I used to love it. Some of my best childhood memories are there, be nice to hear about changes so is there any one out there that went to my school? Would be great to hear from you I can't remember many names but I do remember Debbi Sparks, and it would be lovely to hear from you if you are still in Hemel.

Hoping to find some help..... my father has alzheimers and drove to Hemel Hempstead some three four weeks ago and unfortunately he lost his car .. far fetched your thinking well no its very true ... I am trying to locate the car. Could anyone possible help .. or could it be parked outside your house? Its a red Kia Picanto bog standard registration no. YY05 DBX . I need to get the car back so any information as to its whereabouts would be greatly appreciated. The car is reported missing to the police but they said there hands are tied as it has not been stolen so it will just sit in its current location until the tax runs out . Not really a good scenario. He has no idea where he left it and cannot recall any more information ... we had reported my father missing and he was found approximately a mile and half from hemel hempstead police station but there was no sign of his car. Any suggestions as to a solution to my problem I live in Hull East Yorkshire so a trip to search every street to locate the car is out of the question and I am his sole carer.

Hi I have just been reading these pages I went to Mountbatten school between 1977 -1983 i would love to meet up with some of my old friends. Does anyone rememeber Mr Davies our physics teacher or Mr Ainlsey the head teacher? I would love to hear from people who might have known me. Mountbatten might not have been the best school but it was great for me.

Our Canadian high school is having a 40th reunion. The last address we had for Joanne Pullen (Married name might be Levine) is in Hemel Hempstead. I have been unable to access a phone directory to see if she is still living there. I know that she had taken up basket weaving about 20 years ago, so though that might be a way to contact her.

Hiya I lived in Hemel from 66-79 in which time I was living at the bottom of Shendish Drive, I played drums in the area with a band called the DOMMINOS, I also joined the 5th Royal Anglian TA from which I then left to join the regs and ended up in the Grenadier Guards. On my return I then joined the Hertfordshire Constabulary. Then in 79 I was offered the chance to play drums with an old 60s artist by the name of jimmy crawford, of which I will always be grateful, because in 1987 I was hit by a lorry and paralized from the neck down. However I am now up and about and would like to hear from anyone that might remember me. I now live in Norfolk so if anyone is coming this way on holiday you would be more than welcome to call in and give me all the goss, please get in touch.
