| The Mallard, Harvester, London Rd, next to the railway
station Harvester eatery, Salad cart, varied menu, nicely decorated, families welcome, great value for money. The Deep Sea Den adjoining is where kids under 4 foot 9 inches can amuse themselves in the big soft play area. Last admissions 9pm. Review by Natalie Turner : "The atmosphere is 'cosy' and country-like. The staff are very efficient, friendly and attentive. As always, you will be shown the salad bar (free as-much-as-you-like salad with main courses) which is sufficient as a healthy starter! There is a wonderful selection of main courses to suit all tastes and plenty of side orders to choose from too. Desserts are equally appealing! Typical main meal with soft drink around £9.00 (includes salad bar)." |

The Litten Tree, Leverstock Green Road
Used to be the White Horse, completely refurbished and partly rebuilt. Live shows and Gigs,
quizes and karaoke.
The Full House, Corner of Marlowes/Combe St.
We think it's Hemel’s biggest pub, built on the site of the old Odeon cinema.
Not much to look at from the outside but wow the inside is palatial,
and must be seen to be believed - very impressive. The drink prices are
low compared with other pubs in the area, it doesn't have music playing
and it attracts a wide range of age groups. Well worth a visit.
The Society, 43 Marlowes
Popular with with the young drinkers. Can be busy at peak times Friday
and Saturday nights, and the narrow driveway to the car park can cause problems.
There’s a small area outside with tables and chairs, lots of loud music
playing, a lively night out.
The Three Blackbirds, 194 St. Johns Road, Boxmoor
Very popular watering hole, recently refurbished.
| The Fishery Inn, Fishery Road, Boxmoor Ember Inn chain Great setting beside the Grand Union Canal. Small beer garden, recommended for a warm summer’s evening. Comfortable with no smoking area. Pub grub until 8pm. Doesn't admit children under 14. |

The Three Horseshoes, Winkwell, Bourne End Easily the most picturesque pub around Hemel. Packed with the "Beemer" and GTI set, definitely the place to be seen. Even so, it’s a lovely place to sit outside on a hot summer’s evening, or even for a pub lunch. The entertainment is provided by various boat owners, trying to fathom out how to work the swing bridge across the canal. Be warned though if you don’t close the bridge properly you could be fined 10 shillings! So the sign says. |
| The Old Bell, 51 High Street, Old Town Old coaching inn dating from the 15th century. Refurbished a few years ago to try and recapture that era. It works pretty well but when crowded it tends to get really smoky by the end of the evening. |

| The Crabtree, Leverstock Green Road, Adeyfield Ember Inn chain. Features include leather sofas and log fires, with food available from midday to 8pm. A cosy traditional atmosphere. The pub also has a large beer garden. Doesn't admit children under 14. Very popular with the pint after work brigade. |
